Overhead performance, no subscription.

ProTee VX is the price disruptor — overhead, dual AI-camera tracking with no stickers and no subscription, for roughly half the cost of a GCHawk or Trackman iO. Here's exactly where it lands against every other brand we carry.

Value endPremium end
Apogee
ProTee VX ~$5,500+
Uneekor
Foresight
Trackman

Apogee aside, position tracks price and brand tier — not a verdict on accuracy, since every unit here measures the ball well. We place Apogee at the bottom because it’s locked out of GSPro yet still costs several thousand dollars. The biggest differences are software (open vs. closed) and total cost of ownership. We sell and install every one.

What you're paying for

Dual AI cameras — and the lowest running cost.

ProTee VX uses dual high-speed cameras with AI-powered tracking to recognize the club and directly measure ball and club data — no stickers, no special balls, shot processing well under half a second. The data interface is the most customizable in the group.

The headline is total cost: ProTee Labs is perpetual with no subscription, and it’s open to GSPro, E6 and Creative Golf — plus seamless TGC 2019, since they share a parent company. Its own GolfCore sim is still in beta, so most owners lean on GSPro/TGC for now.

Best for

Buyers chasing the lowest total cost of ownership in an overhead, no-subscription, no-sticker unit.

Mind the lead time + PC

ProTee VX ships from the Netherlands, so plan for multi-week lead times and weigh warranty/return logistics vs. US-stocked brands. It also wants a strong gaming PC (i7+/RTX), and the native GolfCore sim is still in beta.

The quick take

"If the lowest long-run cost matters — overhead, no subscription, no stickers, seamless TGC 2019 — ProTee VX is the value champion. Just plan for the lead time and a strong PC."

Is it the right call?

The case for ProTee VX — and against.

Buy it if…

  • Lowest total cost of ownership is the goal — no subscription
  • You want overhead, no stickers, no marked balls
  • You want open software plus seamless TGC 2019
  • You’re comfortable pairing with GSPro while GolfCore matures

Look elsewhere if…

  • You need it fast — it ships from the Netherlands
  • You want a long, independently-validated track record
  • You don’t have a strong gaming PC
  • You want a cheaper or portable option in the same family

How it stacks up

ProTee VX vs. the field.

Brand Sensing Marked balls Open (GSPro)? Subscription Hardware from
ProTee VX Dual AI cameras No Yes None ~$5,500
Trackman Hybrid radar + camera No No — TPS only ~$700–1,100/yr ~$13,995 (iO)
Foresight Photometric (quad) Club dot Yes Newer SKUs ~$6,999 (GC3)
Uneekor Infrared cameras No Yes (free*) $0–$599/yr ~$1,499 (Mini)
Apogee Stereoscopic IR No E6 only E6 tiers ~$9,000

Simplified for orientation (early–mid 2026) — pricing and software terms move with promotions, so verify at point of sale. *Uneekor overhead units (XO/XO2) include the GSPro/E6 connector free; the EYE MINI needs a Pro tier. The strategic split is software: ProTee, Uneekor and Foresight run GSPro; Trackman and Apogee don’t. Trackman earns its closed system with tour pedigree — Apogee is the one we hesitate on, shut out of GSPro yet still several thousand dollars, which lands it at the bottom of our list.

FAQ

ProTee VX questions.

01

How much does a ProTee VX simulator cost?

+

ProTee VX runs roughly $5,500–$6,500 (early–mid 2026 — verify current), before screen, enclosure and room build — and there’s no software subscription, which keeps long-run cost the lowest on this list.

02

What software does it run?

+

It includes ProTee Labs on a perpetual license (no subscription) and is open to GSPro, E6 Connect and Creative Golf — plus seamless TGC 2019, since they share a parent company. ProTee’s own GolfCore sim is in beta.

03

Does it need marked balls or club stickers?

+

No — dual AI cameras recognize the club and directly measure ball and club data with no stickers and no special balls, and shots process in well under half a second.

04

Anything to plan for on install?

+

It mounts overhead about 9–10 ft up, ~40 in in front of the tee, and plays ambidextrously. Two caveats: it ships from the Netherlands (multi-week lead times reported), and it wants a strong gaming PC (i7+/RTX) for premium sim software.
