A professionally built golf simulator room in Kansas City typically costs $25,000–$45,000+. Our most common build is a custom-framed room with a 4K, 5,000-lumen projector and a Uneekor launch monitor, at about $35,000. Four choices move the price most: the launch monitor, how the room is framed, the projector, and how custom you want the rest of the room.

Our standard build: about $35,000

This is the build we install most often, and the one we use as a starting point when we price a room:

• Custom wall framing and handmade wall padding. The hitting area is framed into the room and padded by hand, with no DIY kit or fabric baffles. That lets you choose exactly how the installation looks so it fits the rest of the space.
• 4K, 5,000-lumen projector, bright enough for a full-width screen.
• Uneekor EYE XO overhead launch monitor, $6,500–$8,000 depending on the time of year.
• Impact screen, hitting mat, turf, computer, wiring, and calibration.

Everything except the launch monitor comes to roughly $28,000. The launch monitor is the biggest single swing, so changing it moves the total almost dollar for dollar.

How the launch monitor changes your total

The totals below swap only the launch monitor in our standard build and keep everything else the same. Prices are manufacturer list prices (MSRP) as of October 2026. Street prices and sales vary, so your quote reflects what the equipment actually costs at the time of your build.

Every total in this table includes custom wall framing and handmade wall padding. No DIY kits are involved. You get an installation that looks the way you picture it and works with the rest of the room. Totals are rounded and keep the rest of the standard build the same. Room finish and electrical are priced separately (see below). Some garage builds use a kit enclosure to come in lower, but that’s a choice, not a requirement.

Overhead or floor?

Floor launch monitors are the most cost-effective option, but they sit beside the ball. That means a left-handed and a right-handed player can’t share the bay without moving the unit. Overhead units mount on the ceiling, stay out of the way, and work for both without touching anything. That’s why most of our custom rooms use one.

Do you need a TrackMan?

No, though it’s the top of the market, and it’s worth knowing what each edition includes before you compare prices:

So the full TrackMan course library sits behind a $9,500 upgrade plus a higher subscription. For comparison, GSPro has more than 2,700 courses on its public server, with new ones published constantly, for $250 a year, and it runs on several of the launch monitors above.

If you want strong data with no hardware subscription, an overhead VTrack running GSPro or PurePlay brings our standard room to about $33,000, roughly $9,000 less than a TrackMan Home room and $18,500 less than Complete. The rest of the room is what we’ve done for 30 years. A custom simulator install in an unfinished room still feels unfinished. If you want the room to match the build, we plan the electrical, finish the walls, and build the cabinetry and storage around the bay. That work is priced on top of the standard build, and it’s the part most likely to take a project past $45,000.

For shared rooms, the numbers change. A golf simulator for an office or an apartment community’s simulator room usually lands between our residential range and a full commercial bay, which typically runs $50,000–$100,000+ per bay, depending on how much sound isolation and construction the building needs.

Ongoing costs

Plan for software after the build. Depending on the launch monitor and the course software you choose, that runs from $0 to about $1,100 a year. VTrack and ProTee VX need no subscription for the unit itself. GSPro is $250/yr, PurePlay $299/yr, Uneekor memberships run up to $599/yr, and TrackMan runs $700/yr (Home) or $1,100/yr (Complete) after the first year.

What’s included in a professional install

When we install a simulator, the price covers more than bolting parts together:

• Room assessment and design: clearance, throw distance, layout, what fits your space
• Equipment sourcing and setup: launch monitor, projector, screen, enclosure, computer
• Build and mounting: framing, screen tensioning, ceiling mounts
• Wiring: clean low-voltage runs (HDMI/network) and coordination of electrical
• Calibration: the part that makes the data accurate and the image dialed in
• A finished space, not a pile of boxes you figure out on a Saturday

Why local installation matters

A simulator that’s slightly off — a projector a few inches from where it should be, a launch monitor that isn’t calibrated, a screen that’s loose — looks and plays wrong, and you won’t enjoy it. Local install means someone stands in your actual room, gets the geometry right, calibrates on site, and is reachable if something needs adjusting.
